Terry Pheto is a South African actress best known for her leading role as Miriam in the 2005 Oscar-winning feature film Tsotsi.

Raised in a shack in Soweto until the age of 21, Terry was spotted by casting agent Moonyeenn Lee in a theatre group in Soweto during the casting process for Tsotsi.
Terry was born Moitheri Pheto.
She has appeared on may other films and TV shows both locally and internationally.
Terry grabbed the viewers's attention when she appeared on one of the world acclaimed and long running television soapies, The Bold and The Beautiful.

Terry first entered the acting industry as Miriam in the 2005 Oscar-winning, Foreign Language film Tsotsi and that's when she made a mark for herself in the entertainment industry.
In July 2008 Terry was named as the new Face of L'Oreal. She has also been featured in numerous magazines, including Destiny, Vanity Fair, Drum, You/Huisgenoot, Y-Magazine, Bona, Heat, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and True Love.
