White privilege is something that social media commentators have come to assimilate Oscar Pistorius with, even more so regarding his recent brief release from prison to pay respects to his grandfather, which has left many divided around this supreme treatment towards Oscar.
The social media streets were ablaze when Tweeps got wind reports about Oscar’s temporary release from prison. The disgraced paralympian’s plea to attend his beloved grandfather’s memorial service was evidently granted. Oscar’s grandfather passed away at the age of 101.

The former paralympian, who once served as an inspirational figure worldwide is currently serving a 13-year sentence for murdering his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp in February 2013 at his home in Pretoria.

According to Times Live, Oscar Pistorius was accompanied by two correctional officials to his grandfather’s memorial service.
His brief release from prison has received quite a mixed bag of emotions from the punlic. Below are just some of the comments from Tweeps.
Oscar Pistorius is a privileged prisoner. They may as well release him.

So much rich privilege. Disgusted that other prisoners are denied this option. #RulesBentAtEveryStep. #OscarPistorius https://t.co/sYuL9JQi2I

Hold up. Wait a gawd damn minute…
Oscar Pistorius was granted “COMPASSIONATE LEAVE” to attend a memorial service for his late grandfather on Tuesday.
DAFUQ!
Does this mean that prisoners also qualify for SICK LEAVE and ANNUAL LEAVE?

A loss of a loved one surely brings about emotions of sadness and sorrow, especially when the deceased was a beloved and treasured member of the family.
Though prisoners have basic rights like the rest of us, we are still not certain if this kind of treatment applies to all prisoners, or if there is some kind of priviledge at play.
