Long before we raved about her as Nomarussia on iGazi, Vatiswa Ndara used to keep us glued to our TV screens as the drunkard - Miriam on SABC series Home Affairs.
Her character may have rubbed some people the wrong way but we can't deny how Vatiswa did justice to her role as Miriam on Home Affairs, if we didn't know better you'd actually think that Vatiswa was an alcoholic in real life.
She had so many memorable moments on the show no wonder she won a Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama for the show.
Watch Home Affairs on ShowMax for the 14-day trial right here.
One of our favourite moments was when she laughed at her daughter, Vuyo, played by Brenda Ngxoli after she wanted to fly to Australia for a discus sports competition.
Miriam was so rude about Vuyo's dream to fly overseas she even laughed and asked if Vuyo had enough money.
Errr maybe if you didn't drink all that money at the local tavern Miriam, Vuyo would've been able to go?

Then she started making fun of Vuyo's love for discus, although that was uncalled for it was real funny.

And then there was the time when she always asked for Bulelwa (Buli) for a cup of tea every time she was hung over, poor Buli always had the raw end of the stick when it came to her mother and sister.
Her mother was always drunk and her sister was always strict on her.

Side Note: Do you also know that Dineo Ranaka made a cameo appearance on Home Affairs also?

Although Home Affairs no longer airs on TV at least we can still watch the first season of the show on ShowMax 14-day subscription Trial.
Back to Miriam, remember how she also stole Vuyo's money, yeah the same money Vuyo saved to go to Australia?
Although it seemed like there was no point of return for Miriam, her reconciliation with Vuyo nearing the end of season one was really touching.

Other local shows we've found on ShowMax 14-day trial subscription are shows like Ubizo - The Calling and Tshisa.
