Muvhango's first episode was aired in the Tshivenda language on April 7th, 1997 but later aired in multiple languages as a sign to unite different languages and Cultures in South Africa. Recently, the soap opera and drama show has been broadcasted on SABC 2 and has attained a good impression by attracting more than 4 million viewers daily.

Gabriel Temudzani

One of the lead actors in the Muvhango soap opera is Gabriel Temudzani, who plays the role of Chief Azwindini. Gabriel was born in 1980 and has been active in his role since 2000. He has also featured in other films such as A Diamond and Destiny, which was aired in 2003, and a lead role in the film Night Drive. 

Maumela Mahuwa

Maumela Mahuwa, a South African actress, is known for her role in the drama TV show Muvhango as Susan Mukwevho. She has been active in the show since 2002. Susan and Azwindini are supposedly identified as real-life couples, which they have confirmed in several posts and interviews.

Bukamina Cebekhulu

Bukamina Cebekhulu was born on July 31st, 1985 in Emalangeni.  She is one of the most popular Muvhango actors playing the role of Gugu. Bukamina started her acting career after being featured in Uzalo, which airs on SABC1. She also had other roles on Akaba and the drama Ingozi, which made her win a role in Muvhango as Gugu. 

Dingaan Khumalo

Dingaan Khumalo, a Muvhango actor that plays the role of James Motsamia, is an actor and a TV presenter who has been active as an actor since 1998 after being featured on Generations as an extra. He joined Muvhango in 2000 after being fired from Generations: The Legacy. He has also appeared on other shows such as Nna Sajene Kokobela and Umoja.

Sydney Ramakuwela

Sydney Ramakuwela is a South African actor born on April 27th, 1988, in a low-income family, which made him study up to high school. Sydney won his role as the mayor in Muvhango in the auditions in 2008, where Duma ka Ndlovu spotted his talent and promised to retain him under the condition of going back to school. As Muvhango actor, he plays the role of Mayor Mulalo Mukwevho. 

Sharon Seno

Sharon Seno was born and raised in Botswana in 1994 but later moved to South Africa to pursue her career. She won her role as Marang in Muvhango after having attended several auditions without success. She is a passionate actor who has dreams of acting in Hollywood.

Sindi Dlathu

Sindi Dlathu is one of the Muvhango actresses playing the role of Thandaza Mokoena, which she appeared in 2003. She was born in January 1974 in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. She started her acting career at a very young age after auditioning for the first time at 12 years. Although she did not win her first audition, she won a challenge at the national miming challenge, which made her win a role in Sarafina's play. Since then, Sindi has featured in other films such as Married, The River, Escape from Angola, Generations, and Soul City. 

Regina Nesengani

Regina Nesengani was born in 1955 in Gauteng Province in South Africa. She is a trained teacher and actress and has a Ph.D. in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) from the University of South Africa. (UNISA). She started her acting career three decades ago while she was a teacher. Her fame grew after she played a role as Vho-Masindi Mukwevho, Chief Azwindini's mother, on the SABC 2 soap opera, Muvhango.
