We've been hearing people talkin' 'bout it goes down in the South, well, we didn't believe it.. till we decided to come through and see for ourselves.
And boy did we get what we were looking for. First off, the weather was all types of grey so we started feeling a bit unsure about the whole thing. So now, imagine: we're already wearing all-white now there's the possibility of the rain? It started looking very dodgy. But alas we soldiered on.
Now, the all-white theme was an issue, I literally had to go and buy white pants only to get there and BAM! people wearing all colours except all-white and still getting in. But asizelanga lokho, sizele i-good time.
We started thinking about who was on our 'need to see' list and we till later on the day when the performances began. We didn't get to see all of them (truth be told, it got hella cold) but the performances we saw were amazing. Tshego and Gemini Major sparked one hell of a flame performing Garden, Hennessy and Ragga Ragga (I was expecting Cassper and Nadia to come out but alas).
Yooo, but before we go any further Lerato Kganyago held it DOWN! Baby girl was spinning them decks like a vet (transitions and mixing was sooo clean). No shem, she did the things.
Okay, back to the performances, J.Molley got the crowd going way before Lerato got on though so he'd set them up for a real good time also.
Shane Eagle also killed his performance when performing his verse on Mayo and his hit 'Let It Flow' amongst a slew of hits.
Oh, then Shimza came on. Egged on by the crowd who kept shouting 'Shimza, we wanna party' he delivered that fire flame fuego that he ALWAYS delivers. Oh, and he played Club Controller, take a wild guess which one.
Then DJ Tira came through and brought Tipcee becela ama-vosho aseGoli. It went wild after that with people getting unwarranted liquor showers. Fam. Listen.
All in all it was a great night which left a lot of us asking when the next one will be, we'll definitely wear rain coats for unexpected liquor showers for that one.
