Before she became famous, Mbalenhle starred in a number of television shows and drama serials. She played Thandi in the first season of Durban Gen and also starred on Uzalo. She then featured on Isibaya season 7 as a negotiator and #Karektas season 2 as a Celebrity Guest. In 2019, she won her first starring role as Tandzile in the etv television drama Isipho.

She enrolled in Durban University of Technology to study Travel and Tourism Management, which she never intended to pursue and ultimately abandoned.
She was rejected from the University drama class due to a late application. Due to high enrolment and registration costs, an attempt to study acting at AFDA was blocked.
“I’ve always enjoyed performing, but I didn’t get into the Drama class at university since I applied late and the class was already full.” I studied Travel and Tourism because I was desperate. I also had the chance to study acting at AFDA, but my mother couldn’t pay the registration and enrollment costs, so I had to pass on that opportunity.”
How Mbalenhle Mavimbela started acting
She began modeling and befriended kids in the acting class while studying Travel and Tourism at university. A buddy invited her to attend theatrical plays, auditions, and make short films.
Mbalenhle hasn’t looked back since her breakthrough with the drama class friend. When she landed her first acting job, she dropped out of Travel and Tourism class.
