Anyone that has a dream and knows their purpose in life, knows just how much effort and determination it takes to actualise those goals.

However, life always poses a challenge in our pursuits to greatness, hence a great deal of sacrifice is involved.

The 2018 winner of Idols season 14, Yanga Sobetwa knows a thing or two about sacrificing for one's dreams. Reports on Isolezwe stated that the petite musician has decided that her matric year takes a backburner, in order for her to fully focus on her music career.

Journalist, Sphelele Dludla posted a screenshot on his timeline on Twitter,  where it states that Yanga regrets her decision to not complete her Grade 12 this year. But Yanga contradicted the rumour, as she replied by emphasising that she does not have any regrets about taking a break from doing her matric this year.

The comments had mixed reactions.

Another local star that was actually advised to take a break from school and pursue music is Dreamteam's Lusaso Saso Ngcobo.

On the group's debut album, Dreams Never Die, Saso raps his heart out about how his mother advised him to focus on the music side of his life at the time because the group was increasingly becoming successful with hit singles such as, Tsekede, Dubane and Izass - to mention a few.
