Vodacom and Showmax are giving you a chance to watch all your favourite movies and TV shows… for free! Yes, that’s right.
If you’re a Vodacom customer, you get 15GB for three months to watch all your faves including critically acclaimed movies such as Inxeba, Five Fingers Marseilles, and hit drama series like Power, Sex and the City and Game of Thrones.
What’s the catch, you might ask?
You’re probably wondering which shows we watched, aren’t you? Well, first up, we had to rewatch all our favourite movies like The Holiday, Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Bridesmaids.
If movies aren’t your thing (seriously, though, who isn’t a movie fan), you don’t need to worry because there’s a lot more entertainment on Showmax. Next up, we had to check out the Comedy Central Roast of Somizi, which, in case you didn’t know, is really funny. It also made us wonder what the Comedy Central Roast of AKA will look like, especially now that Pearl Thusi has been announced as the Roast Master. If Pearl is your girl, you can also check her out on Behind the Story, where she interviews some of South Africa’s favourite celebrities.
Of course, we couldn’t binge without catching up on more local productions such as The River. The first season of the Mzansi Magic telenovela ended last Friday, and season two is kicking off this evening. Do yourself a favour and watch this show, which is fast becoming one of the best local productions we’ve seen in a while.
Here’s the thing about 45 hours of free streaming: you have too much time to watch everything you’ve ever wanted to watch on Showmax. While The River we enjoyed, we were also in the mood for some documentaries, so we had to check out Winnie, Reconciliation: Mandela’s Miracle and Road to Peace.Yes, that’s how deep we are. We just love a good doccie!
If you’re a Vodacom customer, do yourself a favour and don’t get left behind. Sign up for your free Showmax and Free 15GB to stream it - but don’t procrastinate.
