Zodwa Wabantu

The socialites acting career seems to be escalating at a fast pace after she made her first debut on Uzalo, it she seems she is now in popular demand as she is set to star in an upcoming film and another show on SABC 1.

We had a chat with the entertainer about her role on the next SABC 1 show and her next film. Zodwa shared that her confidence and consistency have always assured her she’ll be where she is today.

“I’ve always known cause I’m a free-spirited woman, I express myself easy. I think acting is more about being confident in yourself, and they would try to teach you so much cause, it’s something that comes with who you are. I think that’s what they saw in me. There’s also a movie that I’m wanted for, we’ve been exchanging emails, they are all saying they've followed my brand, who I am, the consistency, so they know what I stand for, and I think the writers wrote scripts around my life, and of me being outspoken…”

Zodwa shared that although she cannot call herself an actress as yet, she has sought out for professional help in her new found friends who are no strangers to the big screen.

“I wouldn’t say I’m an actor or an actress but, bring anything to me and I’m gonna make it successful. You can’t tell me I can’t do it, once you tell me I can’t do it, I’ll show you I can do it. I have friends...Luthuli Dlamini, I met him at Uzalo, Mutodi Neshehe. I didn’t discuss my script with them 'cause I’m confidential, I told them, this is now what's happening to my career, what's the way to go about it, so they’ve been advising me..."

Although Zodwa might not be able to disclose much about the shows she'll be starring in, she says that she is grateful that she has been chosen and is not phased by people calling her names.

“They could have gone for anyone, but it shows that they are the ones that are educated, so whoever hates on me, saying I’m a B***ch...but look at me, I’m surrounded by people who see good in me people who see platinum in me. So I don’t really stress about people on the side, the spectators, the critics, I’m ok, as long as I’m going with the goers, the doers, and the shakers, I’m ok.”

Speaking on her resignation, Zodwa went on to add that as she is set to take on the USA and Austrailia in 2018 and is fully booked until September as a dancer she is just focused on being 'the best Zodwa'

“I'm thinking about my brand now, but I don’t wanna limit it, so I think I’m gonna be the best Zodwa Wabantu I can be."
