Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi is said to be joining The cast of 1Magic's The River and fans could not be more excited. If creator and co-founder of Tshedza Pictures Phathi Makwarele's social media post is anything to go by, then we might be seeing Zozibini on our screens.

Miss Universe is returning to South Africa to be part of the judges for the Miss South Africa 2020 pageant. The all-female judging line-up includes some of the country’s most respected and influential personalities with Tunzi being joined by Peggy-Sue Khumalo, Anele Mdoda, and Leandie du Randt and a fifth judge is yet to be revealed.
After her return home was announced, The River's creator Phathi hinted that he has offered her an acting job on the telenovela and her role will be as a spokeswoman of the Khanyisa Diamonds.
"Apparently @zozitunzi will be in South Africa next week. Bathong cameo nyana on #TheRiver1Magic," he wrote. "I mean all those Khanyisa Diamonds needs a spokesperson," he added.
Whilst many were delighted for his teaser, seeing the same faces on television for some was still a huge disappointment. Zozi has not yet responded to the offer, however her duty as a judge on Miss South Africa is one she looks forward to.
For Zozibini this moment seems surreal. She touched on how her experiences were like and gave compliments to the women on the judging panel, “I was a contestant on stage just a year ago and was in awe of the women on the judging panel,” she says.
As a previous winner herself, Zozi knows the pressure women face on a daily, “I know what it is like first hand to be in the job that these incredible women are applying for. I am excited to see how that experience will be of help in the judging panel. One woman’s life is about to change and I am a part of a panel that will make that happen. I am nervous but mostly humbled and excited by it.”
Speaking on what makes the perfect Miss SA, she said, "There are different aspects to look out for, but I am mostly looking for someone with raw authenticity and sincerity about who they are. I am not looking for perfection or moral purity. Someone who has a voice and an aura about her that makes almost everyone feel at ease when they come in contact with her because she will be engaging with a lot of people in the year."
