‘I passed with two distinctions’: Miss Teen

Rumour were rife that Miss Teen South Africa Celeste Khumalo failed Matric, after users of social network Twitter speculated about her marks.

However, what people don’t know is that Khumalo was registered for Matric under her first name, Refiloe, and not under Celeste.

Khumalo slated the rumour in an interview with SundayWorld, saying that she passed Matric with two distinctions – one for Life Orientation and another for Mathematics Literacy – and missed a third one by a single percent. She said she might ask for a remark for the latter.

“I’ll be going to Varsity College as I want to do BA Corporate Communications,” she said.

Khumalo will use the bursary she won as part of the prize for Miss Teen to further her studies.
