LEGIT approached top South African fashion designer, David Tlale, best known for designing and dressing SA’s zalebrities, to bring you the first of its kind fashion collaboration in South Africa. David Tlale launches VAN DER TLALE, a designer label exclusive to Legit that’s as smoking hot as it is glam.

Speaking at the official launch last night (03.05.2012) at the Military Museum in Johannesburg, Legit divisional buying manager Hazel Pillay said that the collaboration between the two brands has been ground breaking – a South African first!

“David is one of the most accomplished designers in SA. His designs are confident, sexy and bold with lots of attitude. The synergy between David and Legit was obvious, making him the natural choice for this venture.”

“David has been completely passionate about the range throughout the process. He’s a fantastic role model for the youth demonstrating that through determination and hard work, anything is possible,” said Hazel.

Legit and David began working on the collaboration back in July of 2011. The range has been slowly filtering into Legit stores countrywide since 23 April and since then stock has been flying off the shelves.

The range is typically David – there’s lots of black and gold and bling tied together with shots of colour.

The look is trim and chic, with slimmer lines and colours that have the sophisticated edge over summer’s lumo range.

“David is synonomous with haute couture and ready to wear. Now, through the collaboration with Legit, we’re bringing hot fashion at afforadable prices to the people. Now every girl can own a piece of David in her wardrobe.”
