Vi$$er wasn’t a realistic option for film

‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ director David Fincher has denied that Yolandi Vi$$er was ever in serious contention for the lead role in the film.

Rumours surfaced before the film began shooting that Die Antwoord star Vi$$er was being lined up to portray character Lisbeth Salander.

Fincher admits that while he was keen to meet up with the zef star, nothing materialised before he settled on Rooney Mara for the lead role.

“I had talked about her to somebody as a visage [for the character] and they said ‘Oh, she’s going to be in town! You should meet her’, and I said fantastic… and then it never happened,” Fincher told 2OceansVibe.
