I am often asked why I do what I do, and the answer is simply because I love it. Whatever comes of it is just a bonus on top. Yes, I might have become a slight workaholic but the more I grow, the more I tend to agree with the saying “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
One small step at a time, the hard work is paying off.
I was recently notified that I have been nominated as Creative Artist Of The Year for the Ikusasa Youth Awards.
The Awards are South Africa’s biggest youth event established by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Social Development in South Africa. Its purpose is to connect and bring together the youngest, the brightest, and the best South African Youths and to ensure that their concerns, opinions and solutions are heard.
The South African youths are the new driving force behind the rebirth of ideas and innovation in our nation. The youth are going beyond the traditional to harness their talent to achieve excellence. The Ikusasa Awards therefore celebrate the new generation of South African Achievers.
I am so honoured by this nomination, and so proud to be a part of the small group of youth that South Africans find inspirational.
The first phase of judging was a three month process. The next stage is 3 weeks of sms voting. Please cast your vote for me by sms’ing ARTIST RIKKI to 34050 at R2/sms. You can vote as many times as you would like to – I’d appreciate it.
