Amanda Black

When Amanda Black was introduced to South African viewers on Idols SA, little did she know the vital role she would play in the South African music industry.

When she dropped her debut Album, Amazulu, it was if all her stars were aligned, preparing her for one memorable musical journey that would lead the singer to her first ever Coke Studio feature.

On Saturday night, we had the pleasure of watching Amanda Black collaborate with Ghanaian musician, Joey B in an unforgettable performance on Coke Studio's second episode. And to say their performance was amazing would be an understatement.

Amanda Black's many achievements in 2017 are more than enough proof of why she's become one of the most sought-after musicians of 2017.

For example, her debut album was such a success that it went platinum within 3 weeks.

And just when we thought things couldn't get any better for the 24-year-old, she went on to be nominated for five nominations at the Metro FM Awards and walked away with two of the accolades.

It's quite clear that this year, Coke Studio is only dealing with serious winners and Amanda Black is one of them.

The young star thought that she had run her race when it came to winning more awards, but the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) had a lot more in store for her.

Amanda walked away with three awards at the ceremony and officially became a household name, so it was really no surprise when we saw her collaborate with Joey B on Coke Studio, if anything, we'd actually be shocked if she didn't feature in this year's Coke Studio sessions.

Just like Nasty C, Amanda surely deserves to return next year on the musical platform for another mind-blowing collaboration with other African stars.

It's not only the music industry that has found a great interest in Amanda, it is also the media as well. Especially magazine publications.

Just last month, Amanda scored herself a cover on ELLE magazine.

Then she also made it on the cover of  ESSAY magazine as well, making 2017 an unforgettable year for the young star.
