The actor and musician who had a bright future ahead of him had his life cut short last night during a hijacking incident.
Dumi Masilela who played the part of Sfiso Ngema on Etv's Rhythm City was reportedly killed in a hijacking that took place on Wednesday night. Rhythm City publicist Joe Strydom confirmed the death to TshisaLive and even though there are no details yet as to how it all happened.
Dumi leaves behind his wife, Simphiwe Ngema whom he'd only been married to for two months. His aura, his laughter, his presence shall be missed dearly. This is a big loss to his family and friends.
In a recent interview with ZAlebs, Dumi had mentioned that he had a lot of plans for him and his wife's career and had even written a song for his wife titled Yena, after he had released his recent single, Shona Phantsi.
"Yeah, the song is titled YENA be on the look out for it around Valentine's Day. It's a banger well she really loves it.
Dumi had also planned to work with his wife in numerous acting projects in the future as well.
"I work with my wife every day and it's always fun because she doesn't only get it but she also sees it you know. As for the acting part, definitely one day she's gonna play a lead in a movie that Appleseed will shoot and maybe I'll walk in front of the camera as well who knows."
Our deepest condolences to Simphiwe and the rest of the Masilela family. Rest In Peace Dumi.
