Sello Maake ka Ncube

It's no secret that South Africa has a pool of talented actors and actresses who not only act alongside their African counterparts but international stars too. And if there's one character we love seeing our actors impersonate it definitly has to be the homosexual characters.

Acting as a homosexual character can prove to be a difficult role to master for some actors, especially if it's a role you have never played before, but then there are those actors who have left a lasting impression on us with their impersonation.

Sello Maake Ka Ncube on The Queen

Sello will forever be remembered as Archie Moroka on Generations to many viewers but his role on The Queen as the very feisty Kgosi Kgosietsile has caught many people's attention.

He may not be your typical flamboyant man but that thing he does with his fingers is one of the most irritating yet interesting mannerisms we've seen in a character in a while.

Themba Ndaba on comedy show Streaks

Back in the 90's there was a comedy series on SABC 1 called Streaks which focused on a particular salon and it's hilarious hairdressers. One of the hairdressers was a gay man who was played by Themba Ndaba. We vividly remember his glossy lips, bleached hair and how he always wore a silky feminine scarf around his neck, although the show was hilarious back then, we would probably cringe if we watched it today.
