Retired Blue Bulls rugby player John Mametsa will be sitting out the next episode of Strictly Come Dancing this coming weekend, to mourn the death of his mother and spend time with his family.
Mametsa has received many messages of condolences from fans online, with fellow reality dancing competition contestant Khanyi Mbau also sending him well wishes on Tuesday.
“To @johnmametsa condolences on the loss of your mother... Praying for you and the family, a time like this cannot be easy. As we dance this week, with out you.... We will miss your strong presence and warm heart my buddy. R.I.P mama John. #QOB,” she wrote on John’s Instagram account.
John caused jaws to drop during his Strictly Come Dancing Performance on Friday night, when he lifted dance partner Nombulelo Hlathi with one arm and kept her there.
Motorbike racer Janine Davies and her partner Tsholo were the first couple to be voted out of the show over the weekend.
Strictly Come Dancingairs on SABC3 every Friday at 8pm, with the results show broadcast on the same channel at 7pm on Saturdays.
