ZAlebs catches up with Bed on bricks band member Dave van der Linden and Mtv Base VJ Sandile Ntshingila to hear what they have to say about the recently release Matric results of the class of 2013.
Dave: “I don’t want to get too political in terms of how the department of education runs things. This might sound a bit cliché but education is the key to everything. For example the music that I play requires some form of education, to be a doctor requires proper education. Basically learning how to do anything that will better you as an individual requires education and it’s your responsibility as a student to ensure that you receive the best marks possible to succeed in the field of profession in which you want to thrive in.
I’d also like to add that wealth and health can’t come to you unless you’re giving back to society and the best way to give back is through education. Ignore what the politicians are doing about education; you as an individual have the responsibility to ensure that you receive the best results for yourself. Only you know how hard you worked during the year. Mr Mandela once said that 'The most powerful weapon against oppression and poverty is education.' So make it your personal responsibility as a student to educate yourself and receive the best results out of the education you're.”
ZAlebs also caught up with MTV Base VJ Sandile NtshIngila who had some very inspiring words for those matriculants who did or did not make it:
“First and foremost congratulations to the ones that have made it, it’s the beginning of another path in their life. For those that didn’t make it, it’s not the end of the world failure is something that comes with growing up, like they say failure is the next door to success. So they must just take that message and think wisely in any decision they plan on taking onwards. If your plan is to go back to school by all means go for it with full force this time around."
