You may have missed this hilarious trend but South African vloggers and social comedians, Nelisiwe Mwase and Bridget Mahlangu slayed it with their hilarious take on the #CardiBChallenge
Where did it all begin?
We can’t really trace the origins of the trend but it began overseas amongst millennials who were forced to sing the opening lines to Cardi’s smash hit ‘Bodak Yellow’ in front of their parents (and some even opted to record what happened everytime they did and share the footage on social media).
The scary part of it all is the fact that the verse is FILLED with profanity...:
“Said little b****, you can't f*** with me, If you wanted to, these expensive, these is red bottoms,
these is bloody shoes”
...so one never knows how it will turn out or how their parents will react. Just check out some videos from the early days of the challenge.
Although South African kids would never even dare, we imagine the scenario would play out like this if it ever happened here:
