Ask a group of random people and the majority will say that they miss having DJ Sbu on their radios.

The entertainment personality and entrepreneur is the kind of character which excels in the public eye, with his no-holds-barred attitude a recipe for success.

In good news, his adoring fans may not have to wait much longer for his return, if recent reports are to be believed.

According to Sowetan Live, DJ Sbu is on the verge of signing a deal with Durban-based Vuma FM. The move will see him host the station's afternoon drive show.

While Sowetan believe a deal is close, Times Media's Head of Radio Tony Mallam is remaining calm amidst the rumours.

"Yes, we have received a request from him and we are still in talks. It's still early stages to predict the outcome. We are meeting him again this week," Mallam told the publication.

It has been over a year since Sbu has been on radio. Metro FM gave him the boot 14 months ago for being over zealous when talking about his energy drink, MoFaya, on their time.

It will be good to have you back, Sbu.
