While most newly weds would still be in the honeymoon phase, Ajax Cape Town striker, Tendai Ndoro and his wife are experiencing a dark period in their 6-month old marriage following allegations of cheating and abuse.
According to a report published by Sowetan, Ndoro spent the weekend in jail after getting arrested for his part in a fight with his wife, Thando, at their Boksburg home. The report also alleges that he choked her and threw a TV at her during said fight.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)'s Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed that Ndoro - who was released on R1000 bail - faces a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
With regards to the reports about Tendai's cheating, Thando was quoted as saying "he started changing around March this year. He would always get calls from girls here and there but it's nothing I took seriously."
She went on to add, "he wanted the car keys and I didn't give him because I was supposed to drop my son off at school. He pinned me on the bed and strangled me while he searched for the keys. He then picked up a TV and threw it at me but I managed to dodge it and it hit the wall. I called the police but they advised me not to open a case yet and talk things through with my husband."
Tendai has since been unreachable and has therefore been unable to comment.
The case has been postponed to later this month.
