From A to Zee

Some call it the Global Citizen Festival, whilst others have coined it the 'Beyoncé concert' because. Hey, let’s face it, the main reason why this festival is gaining so much traction is because Beyoncé is one of the headliners.

However, for those of you who'll be there to enjoy the entire festival - from the beginning until the end - here are a few tips that will definitely help you to enjoy the experience in its entirety.

Get there early

Apparently, those who get their early stand a chance to get a free ticket upgrade, amongst many other things. So, if you you want to see your favourite acts up close and personal, maybe you should consider making an early grand entrance.

Those in their seats between 12:00 and 14:00 could receive one of the hundreds of on-the-day ticket upgrades, meaning you’d get some of the best views of the stage in the whole venue!

A surprise opening act

A major artist will be opening up the show with a never-before-seen collaboration. This is not to be missed. Who is this major artist? We have no idea. All we know is that it's going to be one epic performance.

Considering how big of a deal this event will be and the traffic it will cause on the road, make sure that you use public transport to get to FNB Stadium.

Below are the means of public transport you can use to make your trip to the venue a stressless one. Trust us, you don't want to be stuck on the road just because you decided to take your own car.

Security and things you can't bring into the venue

With some of the biggest stars and even politicians attending this event, security is bound to be tight. That means bag checks and security searches will be done. Make sure you don't bring any unnecessary items like sharp objects, glass bottles, alcohol, cooler boxes - even recording equipment and cameras are not allowed.

Hectic, right?

And, for those of us who are not attending the festival, it's okay.  You can watch and stream the live show on DStv, SABC and YouTube.
