Kay Sibiya

Kay Sibiya sharpens his acting with the backing of Connie Ferguson and the rest of The Queen's cast members.

From SABC 1 to Mzansi Magic, Kay Sibiya is ready to take on a new role. The actor, who shot to fame after joining SABC 1's Uzalo, will be appearing on The Queen soon.

Mzansi Magic took to Instagram to share a picture of the actor with the caption: "New year, new faces on #TheQueenMzansi!..."

Earlier this month, show creator and actor Shona Ferguson shared a moment from set, featuring Kay.

So, does this mean he's done with Uzalo... for good? In an interview with TimesLive earlier this month, the actor confirmed that he would not be on the show for a while.

"I'm not leaving the show, the issue is a logistical one. I've decided to move to Johannesburg to further my personal interests but the show requires that its cast film in KwaZulu-Natal."

He added that his character will be off-screen for a short time while they discuss whether he can film in Johannesburg.

Kay is not the only new face on the show. Veteran South African actors Magic Hlatshwayo, Patrick Ndlovu and Thembi Mtshali-Jones are also joining the cast.
