According to the Sunday Sun, the drag queen hairstylist has accused Afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo of never returning the expensive weave he fitted for her during a photoshoot.
Starr claims he styled Kelly’s hair to perfection so she would look her best on the cover of Soul magazine in 2012, using three packs of genuine 18- inch Indian Remy hair.
But the stylist never saw the money or the pricey weave after that, and he feel people should know the truth.
“Theft is theft! The public should know their idol is a cheap and nasty weave thief. I mean, who gives away R3 500 worth of hair just for nothing?” he told the People’s Paper.
“I made sure that miss Khumalo’s hair looked perfect for the shoot. But after that, she ignored me. She wouldn’t take my calls or respond to SMSes. And when I bumped into her she’d pretend she didn’t know me.”
Starr also claims that Kelly was on the day of the shoot obsessively trying to figure out a way she could get money out of incarcerated ex-boyfriend Jub-Jub Maarohanye, and says he’s been completely taken aback by her allegedly thieving ways.
“I’m so shocked that a celebrity like Kelly Khumalo stole my weave. That’s the kind of thing a cheap ghetto girl would do,” Starr added.
When approached for comment, Kelly laughed off these accusations, saying she never agreed to buy the weaves in the first place.
“I didn’t ask for it. Three years later she wants my two minutes of fame,” she responded.
