During his interview on The B side with Bridget Masinga, the actor mentioned how at some point things were really rough for him and his family.
"...from the outside looking in, you would never know what people are going through which is why I have such a great respect for artists and for people who soldier on despite their circumstances. I remember there was a time, it was in 2014, it was so crazy because you would travel with artists, you'd stay in the best hotels and come back home, and I remember there was a time when my wife was heavily pregnant and we didn't even have enough money for gas (petrol) to get home from the airport.
And yet I was just staying in this five-star hotel and entertaining amazing guests, it was really crazy, you never know what people's journey entails and everything that is involved in that."
The actor mentioned that although he went through that trying time, he was grateful for it all as it means that every opportunity that he has he will never take for granted because of what he's been through.
