Etv’s Late Night News, presented by Loyiso Gola, has once again been nominated for an International Emmy Award. The show, which had been nominated in the Comedy category, is a satirical news show. Late Night news has kept etv viewers entertained with its funny take on local politics since 2010, taking on everyone from Julius Malema, to Helen Zille, and even Jacob Zuma.
In light of the announcement, Loyiso simply tweeted, “LATE NIGHT NEWS NOMINATED FOR A SECOND EMMY AWARD IN THE CATERGORY OF INTERNATIONAL COMEDY CATEGORY [sic]”. In all caps, he must be pretty excited.
Late Night News was nominated in the same category last year, but unfortunately did not walk away with the award. Hopefully this year will be a different story. The 42nd International Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on the 24th of November.
