According to TMG publication Sowetan, TV star and singer Mara Louw and her family have yet to come to terms with a hijacking incident that happened outside their home and left one man dead.
The incident reportedly happened two weeks ago outside Louw's Mzimhlophe home in Soweto.
Speaking to Sowetan, Louw said her daughter and her boyfriend, (a young man who she refers to as Mashele) were sitting outside in his car when she heard gunshots.
At first she thought some people in the neighbourhood were setting off firecrackers but she soon realized that what she had heard were actually gunshots.
Panic then set in and she started screaming her daughter's name as she rushed to check on her.
"On my way to the gate I saw her come in. We checked on her boyfriend who was shot in the arm. He was bleeding profusely. I have never seen so much blood come out of a human being," Mara told the paper.
The young man later died in hospital.
We at ZAlebs send our condolences to Mashele's family and Louw's family at this trying time.
The fact that Louw is the second celebrity to fall victim to crime in the past few weeks shows that this is a far-reaching problem that affects us all.
