Clint Brink, Kwesta and more to star in MTV Shuga

The upcoming 5th season of MTV's Shuga is starting to look like something we'd definitely enjoy watching.

The cast of MTV Shuga: Down South was unveiled at a media briefing held earlier this week in Johannesburg.

Among the cast members are Vanessa Mdee, Clint Brink, Thuso Mbedu, Mohau Mokoatle Cele, Jezriel Skei, Emmanuel Ifeanyi Ikubese, Nick Mutuma, Adesua Etomi, Given Stuurman, Ayanda Makayi, Stephanie Sandows and Samkelisiwe Makhoba.

Kwesta and Nigerian musician Seyi Shay will also make cameo appearances at themselves on the show.

The purpose of the social drama series is to highlight issues around HIV &AIDS through depicting the lives of young people on the African continent.

The show has been set in Kenya and Nigeria in the past but will now be based in Johannesburg’s Braamfontein area and as well as a fictional version of Soweto called Zenezele.

Winnie Ntshaba is the only cast member whose character has been revealed thus far. She will be playing Neliswe, a hyper-religious mother who does her best to care for her 15-year old daughter Khensani. Other than that, we'll have to wait and see who everyone else will be playing.

The cast did however ask everyone to tune in.
