South African women are some of the most talented and strongest women in the world and Nandi Madida is one of our greatest exports, she was recently unveiled as the new face of Lux and now she’s about to make history.
The 29 year old mother of one has just announced that she will be the FIRST AFRICAN to host Afrofunk Brooklyn in New York City on the 26th & 27th of August. The Afrofunk festival is an annual arts festival that celebrates and unifies the cultural cornerstones of Afrofunk through music, film, skate and arts. The festival has had performances by some of the best Afro and pop musicians such as Lauryn Hill and Lenny Kravitz.
This years lineup includes the likes of Solange Knowels, SZA, Willow Smith, Macy Gray, Kevin Abstract and The Cool Kids amongst other great acts.
This isn’t Nandi's first brush with the international market,she covered the Red Carpet at the 2016 BET Awards.
