Black Coffee wants an end on black on black jealousy

DJ Black Coffee will be the recipient of the International Achievement Award at the 2016 South African Music Awards (SAMAs).

SAMA officials revealed the exciting news on Wednesday.

‪”#‎SAMA22 toasts Black Coffee for taking home-brewed sounds to the world. South African music is exploding on global stages thanks to musical trailblazers such as Black Coffee, who will be presented with the sought-after International Achievement Award at the 22nd Annual South African Music Awards,” a message on the awards show’s Facebook page read.

DJ Black Coffee has certainly been flying South Africa’s flag high.

The Pieces of Me hitmaker was praised for his appearance at the 2016 Coachella Music Festival in California a few weeks ago.

His new single, Come with Me, was released globally in April. The DJ’s family is also temporarily living in Los Angeles while he works on his new album, and tours Europe.

He is currently in Cannes where he performed at a party with one of his biggest fans, US record producer Swizz Beatz.

Some of Black Coffee's other famous fans include hip hop mogul Diddy.

Black Coffee has thanked the SAMAs for the “immense honour”.
