Taraji P. Henson angered by local event promoters

Earlier today, there was widespread FOMO across social media for the upcoming inaugural Women In Media conference that is set to take place in early September but that was short lived...

Media and asset management company, 21st Century Group, who is organizing the event has been teasing the star-studded panel for weeks and all was revealed ahead of a press conference held earlier today to confirm the conference's line up.

At the press conference, hosted by Bonang Matheba, it was revealed that in addition to Matheba being the event's official host, there would be a star-studded panel including the likes of Nomzamo Mbatha, Thabile Ngwato, Connie Ferguson, Halle Berry and Empire actress, Taraji. P. Henson

Henson immediately took to Twitter to refute the claims, repeatedly asking that her name and image be removed from all promotional material and that those who bought tickets to see her demand a refund.

When asked it her management team perhaps jumped the gun and made the booking without her knowledge, Taraji denied this stating, "my team would NEVER agree to ANYTHING on my behalf w/o me knowing!!!!! NEVER! That is not how I run my businesses."

21st Century Group, which was established in 2017 and have offices in USA and the UK, have yet to address the matter.

As it stands, the first International Woman In Media Conference will be taking place on the 5th and 6th September, 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg. Tickets are currently available at webtickets and start at R1250.00.

Although, you might want to confirm who will REALLY be there before spending that money.
