Is the Van damme song still ringing in your head in January?

The song came like an unexpected tsunami on a hot summers day.

No one ever saw this song coming, but it swept the nation by storm and even though it was a festive season hit, some of us just can't seem to get the song out of our heads.

While everyone slowly trickles back to reality from the joyous festive season of 2016, it's rather interesting how some of us have taken a piece of 2016 into 2017.

A simple example would be the sudden success of the Van Damme song by Maskandi singer, Mroza.

If you were in KZN in the festive season, you would know that not a day passed by without the song getting played on many KZN radio stations.

The song which is based on filmmaker and martial artist, Jean-Claude Van Damme, has gained a lot of popularity with the South African masses and whilst other provinces were still confused as to what the whole Van Damme phenomena was about, Mroza was probably cashing in on the success of his song

As we bid our farewell to 2016 a couple of days ago, Mroza helped introduced the New Year with the song as it was selected as the song of the year,

The success of the song has been so hilarious, South African's even managed to make Van Damme dance to this Maskandi jam.

A lot of people like to say South Africans don't deserve the internet, but we beg to differ, this was a hilarious interpretation of Van Damme dancing to a song named after him.

Even Riky Rick had to get onto the Van Damme wave with his hilarious dance moves, so much so, his son Maik also joined in.

2017 STATE OF MIND 😡😡😂

Although some might not understand or even like the song, you can't help but find yourself singing along to the jam or have it playing in your head most of the time.
