Vusi Nova's 2016 album has come a long way with every song considered as a hit, it's no surprise that the album has now gone platinum.

The album has also been nominated for a Metro FM Award for the Best Afro Pop Album category.

Vusi Nova confirmed the great news on his Instagram account and his supporters were more than delighted to hear the news of his album reaching platinum status.

Vusi has been hard at work encouraging his fans to vote for him for this year's Metro FM Awards, however, what we found interesting as well is that a couple of weeks ago, Vusi went back to his home province of Port Elizabeth to thank his ancestors for all the success he's achieved in his music career thus far.

Vusi held a traditional ceremony which was attended by many who had come to support the singer as he expressed his gratitude towards his ancestors.

Vusi mentioned that he is very much proud of who he is and where he comes from.

He recently also shared a picture of himself and singer, Musa, which sparked excitement when his fans thought the two artists were working on a collaboration.

And If they are, we have no doubt that the song will be a hit.

This is how Afro Pop looks! @musathevoice #mma16
