Whether they like it or not, celebrity couples' relationships will become public at some point and they will be open to both scrutiny and admiration.
What many don't seem to think about however is the source of inspiration their relationships can be to the everyday person.
Just like regular couples, celeb couples are made up of different personalities who are into different things. So we came up with some date ideas based on each of the couples below.
Read on to find out what your ideal date would be based on the couples that you admire and follow.
Bonang Matheba and Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes - Booking out one of SA's top restaurants
If the King and Queen are your favourite couple then you would probably prefer the glamour behind booking out a restaurant, having it decorated and enjoying a candle-lit dinner, prepared by a top chef, paired with champagne.
There would also definitely be an exchange of some extravagant gifts like a world-class watch, some designer shoes or bags and maybe even a spa voucher.
Dineo Moeketsi and Solo - Dinner at a Vineyard
Dineo seems like the ultimate romantic and Solo seems like the kind of guy who would do anything to make his girl smile so a grand gesture like a secluded dinner amongst the vines at a vineyard is something he would do.
Loot Love and Reason - Date night at a games arcade followed by some pizza
Loot Love prides herself on being a tomboy/ "one of the boys" and while Reezus claims to be, no ordinary being, he's a pretty chilled guy. Therefore, a date to a games arcade where they can engage in some light competition, mild trash talk and heaps of fun seems like the perfect date for King Loot and Reason.
They would top it off with a no frills dinner at a pizza joint that allows her to don her signature edgy street style and sneakers all while they whisper sweet nothings to each other in indecipherable cool kid lingo. #MyForeverBite
Thapelo and Lesego Mokoena - A weekend away at a game reserve
This couple strikes the perfect balance between chilled vibes and glamour so we could totally see them enjoying a weekend away at a remote game reserve with little Lereko in too.
Connie and Shona Ferguson - Surprising you partner with a yacht
Face it, this idea isn't that far-fetched when it comes to these two. Just imagine the scenario;
Their production company has had a good year and they predict an even better on in the coming months. They've been working on productions back to back and they need a little time out to recharge and rekindle the flame so Connie plans a family getaway to Durban. They take a drive down to the harbour for a day on the water and as they get there, Connie hands Shona a set of keys.
"What's this?" he asks.
"Your boat," she says as she reveals the name printed on the side (probably something in Setswana) before revealing that they're actually sailing to Madagascar or something. It could totally happen guys!
Khanyi Mbau and Tebogo Lerole - a flight to Mozambique, followed by dinner on the beach
Getting flown out to dinner may be nothing new for Khanyi but when it is done by the man you love, it definitely is something special. They do look like the type of couple who likes a little adventure and what's better than a change of scenery?
Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones
It's no secret that these two enjoy the lowkey life (probably because of Quinton) so a night at home eating a dinner cooked by him is the type of date we see these two on. So, if like Minnie, you're a girl who loves love, loves her culture and loves her man, this date is right up your alley.
Pearl Thusi and Robert Marawa
Seeing as Thusi is currently based in New York while filming episodes of Quantico, it would be so cute if Robert surprised her with a visit and spent the day out in New York with her. It's the city that never sleeps so I bet there's plenty to do. Doesn't the Empire State building host some kind of romantic event of sorts?
Ntando Duma and Junior de Rocka - A night out at the strip club
Duma is an open minded, sexy little firecracker and Junior is a DJ so they would enjoy a night out at a strip joint with Duma getting up on stage to give the pros a run for their money from time to time.
Duma has never been one to follow what everyone else is doing so she's definitely the only one brave enough to go watch some nekkid ladies on the day of love.
Black Coffee and Enhle - A weekend trip to LA
They are one of SA's it-couples but we think it's time they make that status global. From first class flights to LA, to a hike up to Runyon Canyon Park (where they could place a lock engraved with their names on the fence) followed by a rooftop dinner over-looking the city... Those are levels only Black Coffee could reach.
Mthokho 'Dash' Mkathini and Ayanda Thabethe
Let's face it, these too scream "cheesy." No shade though. This is exactly why we could see them enjoying a cute little picnic by a lake or dam while Dash raps a verse he wrote just for her.
Maps Maponyane and Nomzamo Mbatha - Rooftop dinner and movie projected onto a big screen
Nothing screams "buddy" like dinner and a movie but we have faith in Maps to be a little more original than that so we see him pulling off a rooftop vibe for Zamo. Come to think of it, we'd also want this for ourselves. *hint hint bo baby*
Proverb and Liesl - Motorbike ride to a spot on the hill over looking the city
Proverb also seems like the corny type (again, no shade). He would most probably take Liesl on an evening bike ride up a hill where would find a cute dinner set up waiting for her. They would then dine under the moonlight while The Verb also spits a verse for Miss Laurie.
Nandi Madida and Zakes Bantwini
The couple just welcomed a new baby and Nandi prides herself on being iNtombi yomZulu so they would most likely stay home and enjoy a meal prepared by Nandi and Zakes would probably shower her with gifts afterwards.
