Most actors will attest to the fact that a nomination alone means the world to them. Even more so an international one as it serves as an opportunity to stretch their artistry across borders.

South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) winning actress, Thuso Mbedu was unsuccessful in securing  a win after being nominated for an International Emmy Award. The star, who was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress category, attended the ceremony held in New York City on Monday.

The actress, who hails from Kwa Zulu-Natal received firm support from esteemed local brands including, Capitec Bank, Tsogo Sun and the creative industry in general.

Thuso's fans were holding thumbs for her as this was the star's second Emmy nod for her role as Winnie on Mzansi Magic's Is'thunzi. Like the true class act that she is, the former Generations: The Legacy actress took the loss in her stride, and she remains forever grateful for her second prestigious nomination and recognition.

As the creative industry, we remain proud of Thuso's International Emmy nomination. This alone deserves a celebration.
