Last night, fans of Khanyi Mbau's entertainment show, The Scoop, were in awe of the fact that she showed her liposuction surgery on national television and now, those of you who missed it can watch it online.
Mbau let the cameras for her weekly entertainment show, The Scoop, into the operating room as she got all the fat (which was barely there) sucked out of her ahead of summer.
Mbau has been honest about her affinity for plastic surgery from the get-go, so this comes as no surprise but this is the first time many South Africans get an inside look at the procedure.
She has been the talk of the town all week after she revealed that she was not feeling well but it turns out to just be a result of the residual pain from the procedure.
Starting at the 19:37 mark, Mbau opened up about why she did this. According to Mbau, the reasoning behind it was to educate the public on the pros and cons of surgery which she feels the American shows don't always get honest about.
She not only got some lipo but a procedure called capsulorraphy which can be done on many parts of the body, but in this case, it was done as breast implant revision surgery. She also got liposuction and what we werr surprised to learn is that they do not suture (close up) the incisions because excess fluid needs to ooze out after the surgery.
We also learned that the doctor can only remove up to 5 litres of fat per surgery and that Mbau wanted to have it injected into her backside but Dr. Steinmann advised against it.
Mbau also shared which parts she hated about surgery and boy did we learn a lot!

The Scoop airs on SABC 3 (DSTV channel 193) every Wednesday at 9h00pm
