In mid-June Amanda Black confirmed that she was going her separate ways with her former record label - Ambitiouz Entertainment. In her statement, Amanda mentioned that she was grateful for working with Ambitiouz Entertainment for the past couple of years but needed a change in management for the new journey she's embarking on.
In the statement, Amanda mentioned nothing about experiencing difficulties with Ambitiouz Entertainment, so you can imagine our surprise when we read on Sunday-Sun that the award-winning singer is allegedly filing a R1 million lawsuit against Ambitiouz.
According to a Sunday Sun report, Amanda filed a lawsuit at the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg. In the article, it's reported that the singer filed an affidavit accusing the record label of breaching an exclusive management contract.
It's further reported that the singer alleges that the record label did not have her best interests at heart when it came to how they managed her career.
Ambitiouz Entertainment has had its fair share of ups and downs when it comes to working with artists. In 2017 the label experienced a nasty break up with four of its former artists - Fifi Cooper, hip-hop group - Bench-Marq and A-Reece who went public about their experience in working for the label.
However, on the other hand, artists like Sjava, Emtee & Priddy Ugly have been working under the label peacefully so far.
We hope Amanda and Ambitiouz are able to iron their differences out.
