Saturday, 23rd marks the day (and night) where it goes down. The Feel Good Series Presents UMI Festival-the mother of all Feel Good Series parties at Victoria Yards, Johannesburg.
If you’re unfamilar with the Feel Good Series - we are keen to fill you in. The series is a rooftop party hosted in Jozi’s inner city, every month since its start in July 2017. The series fast became an unmissable hit that stood out from the competition (if they have any).
Inspired by the highly coveted social and brunch event, THE WKND SOCIAL, Johannesburg provides the perfect urban landscape where the stylish and creative gather to enjoy feel good music .
Ever since The Feel Good Series’ debut, the spearheader, Nandi Dhlepu also known as, mamakashaka on Instagram, takes heed of the Joburg scene and brings forth the most well-curated parties, from venue to food to entertainment.
Featuring an eclectic selection of sounds that range from hip-hop to afro-beats, dancehall, and more. The monthly event includes live performances from your favourite upcoming, local artists and the party has fast grown to serve a loyal community of ‘Feel Gooders”.
With the focus being on music and its representation, the lineup is just as diverse as its attendees. The “Feel Gooders” are a group of young, fashionable, urban consumers, who set, drive and shift trends both local or international. Are you hyped to go yet?
This year is no different from the years before-it’s even better. The Feel Good Series’ loyal community were offered the opportunity to curate the line up and be in control of the feel for the evening.
The full festival line-up is as follows: Muzi, the young producer who released his first album ‘Boom Shaka’ and is responsible for bringing you the critically acclaimed ‘Afrovision’. Yanga Yaya, who burst into the music scene providing vocals on Musi’s ‘Desire’. Melo B, a singer/songwriter who will give you the chills, giving you that old school hip-hop and R&B sound. Spoken Priestess, Amazon, Scorebeatz, Adillxh, SoKool, Darkie Fiction, Dj Doowop, Mystikal Ebonyn and.Blaqkongo will also be there-just to make it square.
Tickets for UMI can be bought from Quicket.co.za and are priced at R250, so budget while you can so you can enjoy the full experience. Gates open at 15h00.
The Feel Good Series prides itself on being an inclusive and safe space so, here are a few ground rules. Don’t be a hater and funk up the vibe.
