The South African entertainment industry is booming, over the years we have seen some emerging entertainers thriving to create solid careers in the cut-throat entertainment industry. They have managed so solidify themselves into households names with a legion of fans.
We cannot dispute the fact that the industry is too small to accommodate everyone, hence some need to pack their bags and hit the ground running to explore better and lucrative opportunities around the world.
Many South African born, crème lade crème celebrities have been making their international marks and flying the South African flag high. This includes the likes of Comedian turned Tv host Trevor Noah, the multi-talented actress and presenter Nomzamo Mbatha amongst others.
By the virtue of how things unfolded in 2019 it would be great to see TV stars like all-round TV and media personality Bonang Matheba to move abroad. The star recently announced that she will permanently move to the big apple next year after the Sun Met, to chase money and fortune.
Bonang has had a successful career in the media industry in recent years and won the hearts of many. She recently bagged a prestigious award at the E! People’s Choice Awards for the African Influencer of the year 2019.
Her accomplishments simply prove that she deserves to spread her wings internationally. If this is anything to go by then we will have, yet another reason to pop some bubbles and celebrate her milestone.
Legendary rugby player Tendai ‘ Beast ‘Mtawarira recently announced he is moving to America. The Springbok Rugby player has signed a one-year contract with the Washington-based Old Glory DC.
This is set to be a lucrative deal if it is anything to go by, certainly, we cannot wait to witness his growth.
Another star who deserves to move overseas is Sho Madjozi. The musician won a BET Award this year and has had the pleasure of globetrotting around the world. Madjozi recently her hit song titled John Cena, the song gained a lot of attention across the world and the star has been seen gracing international stages and interviews we would assume she might decide to pack her bags in 2020 for overseas.
Another star we assume might move abroad is Prince Kaybee. The music maestro has had a successful career in the music industry, He too deserves to give the world a taste of what South African Music has to offer.
This year other TV stars who moved overseas included the likes of Nomzamo Mbatha who scored an international role in Coming to America, a sequel to the iconic 80s comedy which will screen on 18 December 2020.
The actress has simply become of South Africa’s busiest celebrities. She has made a name for herself in the industry from bagging endorsement deals to acting gigs, we cannot doubt she owned 2019.
Zozibini Tunzi also moved to the New York City after she was crowned Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini has been set up in a luxurious apartment in the New York city and has begin her title duties which are set to be even more exciting in 2020.
South Africans are slaying indeed and has everyone eating on the palm of their hands. It’s so beautiful to see our home-grown talent getting international recognition.
