In this month Arthur not only lost his younger brother - Makhendlas but also one of his close industry friends - Lebo Mathosa.
In October of 1998, the Mafokate family was faced with the tragic death of their son - Makhendlas who at that time was one of the most sought-after kwaito stars in South Africa.
Eight years later, Arthur was hit with yet another tragic loss in 2006 when his close friend - Lebo Mathosa passed on in a car accident.
In honour of her memory, Arthur shared something so prophetic about Lebo Mathosa and his daughter - Owami
In a never seen before video Arthur shared, we see baby Owami (Arthur's daughter) held by the late Lebo as he contextualised the great meaning behind this particular video, he wrote:
"This makes me emotional since it's October, the month that I lost both my brother Makhendlas and close friend Lebo. And one thing I will always remember is that Thembi (Thembi Seete) & Lebo would always say that Owami Mafokate was special to them. I still don't understand why they would say she must be a performer. Lebo & Queen (Owami's mom) grew up together in Daveyton. This was in Sun City after Lebo's beautiful performance at her last #SAMAs. The strange thing is that in this video Lebo asks her if she could dance or not, but adds that she must be a performer."
This message is quite ironic considering that Owami is now a budding entertainer who specialises in dancing and deejaying at the tender age of 17.
Arthur further added that the most amazing yet scary thing about the video is that behind Lebo & Owami was a woman by the name of Megan who was Lebo's former dancer, fast-forward to 2018 and Megan is now Owami's Contemporary Dance instructor. Megan had met Owami when she was only three years old and had never seen her again until this year when Owami enrolled in her dance school.
Talk about life coming at a full-circle, Lebo clearly saw something really special about Owami.
