In some households, children are expected to extend a helping hand back home, especially when they are fortunate enough to have well-paying careers.
This week, Isolezwe reported that South Africa's national treasure, Babes Wodumo has allegedly been ducking her "responsibilities" of financially supporting her family back home in Lamontville, KwaZulu-Natal. These reports come as a shock as Babes is in demand and allegedly makes close to R500 000 per month.
The publication also implied that the Wololo hitmaker does not have good relations with her family, and therefore her father, who is also a Bishop, relies on money from the congregation. A source revealed to the publication that whenever her family asks for money, Babes promises to send it, but she never does. The Simelane family has reportedly gone as far as asking Mampintsha for financial assistance as he always comes through for them without asking questions.
When called for comment, Babes' father reportedly told Isolezwe that he doesn't discuss his family's business with the media. This is clearly a family issue, which also happens to have different sides to it. We hope the Simelane family will find an amicable solution.
