It was at the age of 15, on one of Mzansi’s teen shows Manhattan’s Fantasy Challenge that we got our first television encounter with Queen B, who proved even at a very young age that she was indeed born for the spotlight and today, she is a powerhouse across all entertainment circles.

The multi award-winning South African television presenter and radio host has the voice and boundless personality to die for. She has hosted countless television productions across the country and Africa at large.

With over 50 magazine covers, 22 awards and over 5 million followers on social media, Queen B is a darling to many including Forbes magazine which listed her on the Top 13 African celebrities to watch proving how Brand Bonang is spreading its wings internationally.

Bonang’s success flows beyond just television to her approach to style which saw her being voted style icon of the year for her well-coordinated glam life and appearances, the queen is a sure trendsetter.

With a reality show, a No.1 selling book, a clothing brand and several million dollar endorsements, Bonang’s net worth is rumoured to be over R8million as evidenced by her luxurious house, cars and other essentials.

The Mafikeng born star also has a heart of gold as she takes time off her busy schedule to give back to the community through different philanthropic works.

From helping a student with school fees, giving off her red carpet dresses to matric students to leading the Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund which supports and funds 10 ladies every year throughout their tertiary education.

Queen B has it all as she also hosts some influential social events including the Global Gift Nelson Mandela Centenary Dinner in London.

However, we can never take Bonang’s success from her, but she too is no new face to controversy, we need not list those but they're there alright.

Fame sure comes with controversy but if more people could learn how to handle scandals like Queen B, the Mzansi entertainment scene would be a better place.

We admire how Bonang soldiers on in taking her brand to global depths and we can safely say she is doing the most to put South Africa on the map for all the right reasons.
