It was always going to raise some questions when DJ Fresh disappeared from his own show without explanation. His stand-in, Relebogile has held it down for a couple of days and by all means she's done an alright job but the masses want their beloved Fresh and you have to somewhat understand.
We first noticed that Fresh was off-air towards the end of last week although at first listen we thought he was taking a day's break or might have been unwell. However, by Tuesday morning most fans were beginning to question why their favourite breakfast DJ wasn't returning. Neither he nor the Metro FM higher-ups had offered a reason for his absence and people began to express their frustration on social media.
As it turns out, the reason why DJ Fresh was taken off air was actually reported in this weekend's Sunday World edition. The DJ landed himself in hot water after he was found to have used inappropriate language on air.

According to the report, at the end of May DJ Fresh used the word "Msunery" (a play on a Zulu swear word) while also telling another listener to stop tweeting "from his ass" during the same show. This led to a complaint from a listener who contacted the BCCSA for Fresh's strong language.
SABC Spokesperson, Vuyo Mthembu, confirmed that the DJ was now off air when he said:
"The SABC can confirm that Mr Thato Sikwane has been unscheduled on Metro FM until further notice. This is a matter between the organisation and Mr Sikwane and the SABC is not in a position to comment further,"
Fresh, when contacted by Sunday World, confirmed that he was off-air for the forseeable future when he said:
"The only communication I have from the SABC is that there is some 'investigation' underway. My lawyer will attend to it and whatever the 'outcome'! No further comment, thanks!"
Do you think that DJ Fresh should be punished accordingly or should he be brought back on air as soon as possible?
