From fancy cars, exotic vacation destinations and very heavy pay cheques we now understand why some of our local celebrities are constantly on the grind.
As most of us are trying to work hard to get some decent Christmas bonus money. A few of our ZAlebs have done very well making bank in 2016. We dont have official bank statements and payment records, but our social media savvy celebs as well as work we have heard about: assisted in compiling this very scientific list. They are not in any order of wealth, but we know this makes sense:
Well, come on! With a rumored paycheck of R500k for the MTV MAMAs. Her ongoing Revlon endorsement and Woolworths relationship. Metro FM radio show and Afternoon Express gig. Queen B is still up there with the big money makers. Bonang purchased a new home in Bryanston, Johannesburg (probably a mansion) and a MercedesBenz G -Wagon, retailing for over R2mil. A Bentley and Camps Bay estate are not far away for the Queen of SA Entertainment.
Well well, even though Ms Dlamini is officially unemployed her bookings have not slowed down. Minnie Dlamini charges between R70 - R150k to host major events. She recently hosted the Essence Festival and has secured a solid relationship with BMW. Minnie is working on the Tropika Island of Treasure TV show and is reportedly being paid very well for her efforts. She has no official endorsement deals but gets close to R25k per brand post on social media. yes peeps, and were here struggling with data!
DJ Black Coffee
Our favorite international DJ has been making bank for a few years now. This man is earning dollars! He recently built a very swanky and modern home in Sandton, Johannesburg and we see his gorgeous wife tooling around town in a white Maserati convertible. The DJ has a fleet of luxury cars, including and probably two major closets to ensure his beloved keeps winning those Most Stylish Awards .
No doubt the rapper has been taking tips from his girlfriend, Bonang. The rapper recently signed a 6 figure endorsement deal with Cruz Vodka, has performed in major concerts around SA and charges an appearance fee of over R50k. Thats just to attend an event, not even sing or speak!
The Minnie Dlamini groupie rapper was all smiles after he filled up the Dome and then Orlando Stadium. Cassper reportedly ranked in close to R2milion for the event and has solidified himself as a true performer in the eyes of the nation. The Bentley Continental driver has a few more cars filling up his driveway - Cassper has been seen with a MercedesBenz CLS AMG, a Porsche Cayenne and who can forget the MercedesBenz he kitted out for his ex-bae, Boity Thulo.
Mr DStv himself. Somizi has had a terrific year. The performer is rumored to have earned a cool R5mil for his endorsement deal with Multichoice. He has hosted a few major events and secured a prime spot on morning radio. He recently purchased the same luxury car as his former bestie, Bonang. But of course his G-Wagon has to have a few extra bells and whistles.
The former Miss South Africa has been under the radar on a silent hustle. According to a source, Liesl has secured a major endorsement deal with an international brand, not to mention the with the XTreme lashes team in Texas, USA. Liesl also did a very thought provoking TVC with Discovery and was paid handsomely for her efforts.
Bokang - Montjane - Tshabalala
The silent slayer, another former Miss SA has recently become the face of ABSA banks latest campaign. Earning her a cool few hundred thousands. She has also opened a few salons in the West of Johannesburg and was chosen to be a judge at the prestigious Hairstylist of the Year event. Mrs Tshabalala is our best kind of ZAlebs
The stunning Ayanda Thabethe has had a great year. The face of LEGIT earned a cool, R450,000 and a new TV show. Rumor has it that her and Nandi are being paid well over industry standard for their BET A-List TV show. Ayanda also owns a marketing agency, which has landed a few lucrative clients .
