Singer-songwriter Connell Cruise’s dreams of one day collaborating with international stars like Justin Timberlake are fast becoming a reality.
The 27-year-old musician recently signed a deal with renowned American producer L.A. Reid’s Epic Records, which is also home to popular stars such as Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger and Avril Lavigne.
Speaking to Heat magazine, Cruise says he still can’t quite believe his sudden success.
“It’s like living in a movie because this is bigger than my wildest dreams. I am so honoured,” he told the publication.
“I’m going to be living between New York and Joburg, going back and forth. I hope to work with Justin Timberlake and Timberland because that would be out of this world. It seems a little more possible now.”
And while Cruise’s manager, Andrew Mitchley, says they’ve always kept their eye on the big prize, they’re nonetheless still a bit shell-shocked.
“It was always the plan to get an international deal, but it was still a huge shock when we got a call from L.A. Reid’s guys asking to meet with us,” he admitted.
According to the magazine, Connell is already working on a new track with songwriter John Ryan, the man behind One Direction hits ‘Best Song Ever’ and ‘Story of My life’, and his next album is set for release in early 2015.
