After celebrating his 85th birthday on October the 7th, Archbishop Desmond Tutu reveals that he wants assisted death.

a video of the world-wide loved and respected South African anti-apartheid icon and retired Anglican archbishop Desmond Tutu was shared on his birthday, on Friday the 7th saying that death is a part of life and he would like to be allowed the option of assisted death.

"As a christian I believe in the sanctity of life and that death is a part of life. I hope that when the time comes, I am treated with compassion and allowed to pass on to the next phase in the manner of my choice. People who are terminally ill should have the option of dignified and compassionate assisted dying. I pray that the politicians, law makers and religious leaders have the courage to support the choices of terminally ill citizens . God bless you" said Desmond Tutu

The news of the Bishop opening up medically assisted suicide has grabbed the attention of everyone, world-wide.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner, Tutu has been in and out of hospital due to an infection from prostate cancer treatment he has been receiving for almost 20 years.

Even though more cases or calls of requests for medically assisted suicide have been growing in the recent years, it is still illegal.
