Dumi Masilela’s long-awaited debut album titled Eternal Crush, is now available for Mzansi to hear.
It’s almost unbelievable to think that it’s been a year since the Rhythm City actor passed away. As painful as it is that he is not around to launch his own album, it is a comforting feeling to know that his wife, Simphiwe Ngema has been doing an exceptional job at keeping Dumi’s memory alive by promoting this project.
From going to a number of interviews, to giving us a taste of what the album sounds like, Simphiwe has been working hard at reminding us how much of a passionate and great artist Dumi was.
The release of this album is also a reminder that although he may no longer be here in the physical, his spirit sure does live on. Like the encouraging person he was, Dumi created songs like Dear Fear, a message of how we should never let fear overcome our lives and how we should face it straight on.
The 10-track album also includes a song titled Yena, an ode to his wife and Uphushiwe, which he also sang to Simphiwe at their wedding.
Rest in eternal peace, Dumi. Thank you for the music.
