Five things you probably didn't know about Kgomotso Christopher

We kinda fell in love with her after her interview with Anele

Five things you probably didn't know about Kgomotso Christopher

Despite how easy it may seem to assumptions about the kind of person Kgomotso Christopher is based on what her life looks like from the outside, it's quite clear that she's a bit of an enigma.

Considering the fact that she is a beautiful, glamourous-looking, eloquent woman - one can easily be fooled into thinking she is like the character she played on Isidingo (Katlego Sibeko). But, after yesterday's interview on Real Talk With Anele, we find that there is so much more to Christopher than meets the eye.

The 37-year-old actress grew up in Tembisa in the East Rand and still frequently visits as she has family that lives in and around the area. It is also during that upbringing that she discovered how drawn she was to being an entertainer.

Here are the five things we learned about her from the interview.

Kgomotso has been working as an actress since she was in college. She wasn't from a very rich background and had to pursue a degree that would guarantee employment upon graduation but she did not let that derail her plans of becoming an actress.

As soon as she got to Cape Town, she contacted one of the Cape Town-based agents that she had met during her time at the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein and set up a meeting. She was later signed to the agency and she got acting jobs which she had to fit into her schedule as a full-time student.

Idols

Although she had already shared this story on her Instagram quite a few weeks ago, Kgomotso retold the tale of how she first met Jerry Mofokeng when she was in high school.

In the caption, she wrote;

"When I was 17, I was walking from high school to the taxi rank and I bumped into a theatre giant across from the Joburg Theatre. I stopped him, opened my homework diary and asked him to autograph it. He wrote "Reach for the Stars"...his name was Ntate Jerry Mofokeng @jerrymofokeng38 , and tonight that girl is so privileged to be part of his invited guest list on his opening night for "Acceptance" @joburgtheatre. The Universe has brought us together [email protected] #MyColleague #Blessed. #Humbled 🙏💖"

She and Jerry now star opposite each other in the eTV soapie Scandal as Neo Mokheti and Yvonne Thebe.

Dreams

As quite the dreamer and avid fan of travel, young Kgomotso had considered becoming a diplomat as it was one of the few jobs she felt would allow her to do what she does best and travel at the same time.

Luckily, her talents as an actress got her what she wanted without requiring her to deviate from what she was clearly born to do.

Proving once again, that when you know, you know (like Connie and Shona Ferguson), Kgomotso met her husband Calvin during her first week at UCT and they have been together for over 15 years (married for 13).

He was here as an exchange student from Princeton and had to go back to The States after 5 months but he found a way to come back to his girl (so ladies, if you still need proof that a man will do whatever it takes for the woman he wants and loves, here you go).

Life

Let's Rise, Shine and be grateful for opportunities to grind!! New week. New Month.. yet another new face🙏🙏

Lastly, we feel Kgomotso has a great understanding and knowledge of self which impacts greatly on how she understands and relates to the world around her.

She is calm, poised and eloquent. All signs that she is secure about who she is and what she has to offer the world.

She also takes great pride in being "the educated actress" as stated in her Instagram bio. Kgomotso has acquired multiple degrees and perhaps, it is for that reason that she is the person we perceive her to be.

Anyway, no matter what the reasons may be for her awesomeness, all we know is that she exudes the kind of energy we'd like to possess when we grow up.
