Heavy K Facing Arrest In Botswana

Aug 01, 2019, 07:53 AM

Heavy K is in trouble with authorities from the republic of Botswana and it's so serious that he could be facing arrest in the country!

Heavy K has had mixed fortunes with the public in 2019, and now a mix up with his fortunes could be set to land him in trouble. The DJ is reportedly facing arrest in Botswana over a large sum of money that he owes to festival organisers for missing a gig nearly two years ago.

The DJ and self-proclaimed Drum Boss was paid a fee of over R87,000 to perform at the Morobosi Festival at Raselwa Farms in Tswapong Hills in 2017. The festival was set to usher in the new year and the DJ was billed as a headliner on the lineup. The only problem is, he didn't show up for the gig and since then,  Morobosi Entertainment and Bakgopeng Scientific have been trying their best to get him to #PayBackTheMoney but after their efforts proved unsuccessful, the companies took the legal route.

According to a report in this week's IOL, the court papers calling for his arrest read:

"The respondent [Heavy K] be arrested suspectus  de funga in order to allow the applicant time to pursue action against them. The order contained in paragraph 2 above shall operate as an interim order pending the return date.”

The court order further added:

“We command that you take Mkhululi Siquala (hereinafter called ‘the Respondent’), if he is found in this country, and safely keep him so that you have him before the above-named High Court at Lobatse on the 15th day of August 2019, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, then and there to answer Bakgopeng Scientific (Pty) Ltd… (hereinafter called ‘the Applicant’) wherefore he hath not received money in the amount of R87,000 which money he is owing and due.

“It is ordered that the respondent be arrested suspectus de fuga in order to allow the Applicant time to pursue action against them.”

Heavy K, for what it's worth, has responded swiftly on social media by declaring that not only is he safe, but seemingly dismissing the veracity of these claims.

"Bro I’m safe! I’ll deal with this legally & the same people will go back to social media to apologise again.”

Whose side of this dodgy story do you believe?
